Simon’s speciality is divorce across the spectrum, and finance arising from divorces and all aspects of family matters including children. Simon both leads and assists the team in dealing with high net worth divorce and ancillary relief cases often involving high profile companies, forensic investigations and emergency applications concerning children of the family. He also assists in grandparents’ applications for contact to grandchildren.
Simon has assisted in all the company’s reported cases including L v L (Financial Remedies: Remission After Appeal)  1 FLR 776;  EWHC 3040 (FAM)
Simon has obtained a Law Degree from De Montfort University in 2000 and was called to the Bar in October 2001. He was a non-practising Barrister-at-Law until his qualification as a solicitor in 2007. Simon also attended Brunei University at the Centre of the Child, the Law and the Family obtained a Master in Child Law and Policy.
Simon’s approach to all cases is one of pragmatism and he seeks to elicit at the earliest possible stage what each client wishes to achieve and thereafter goes about developing a strategy to attain this. This approach is adapted across all aspects of any individual case but also to office issues generally.
Simon has a unique eye for forensic detail which he regularly applies when preparing, drafting and considering all documentation in a case. This means that the best possible chance is given to a client to utilise their information in the best manner as well as immediately routing out discrepancies in the opposite case.
Simon’s friendly and approachable manner allows clients to feel that their case is being run in an efficient and professional manner whilst at the same time providing practical advice in complex, difficult and emotional situations.
His interests outside of work include swimming, Pilates, cooking, travel, current affairs and being an avid fan of Formula 1 motor racing. He is also a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.
